Recipe : Vanilla Bean Christmas Sugar Cookies
ingredients:
3 c unbleached, all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 c vanilla sugar {or regular sugar}
2 sticks butter, cold and cut into chunks
1 egg
3/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp pure almond extract
1 vanilla bean, scraped
Yield: 2-3 dozen cookies Prep Time: 40 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl stir flour and baking powder together. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar together. Stir in egg, extracts and vanilla bean. Slowly incorporate dry ingredients. Roll dough out onto floured surface to be just over 1/4" thick. Cut cookies out using cookie cutters and place onto parchment paper lined baking sheet. Freeze 5-7 minutes, then bake 10-12 minutes. Cool 3 minutes on baking sheet, then remove to cooling racks. Decorate as you like. Recipe by Lauren's Latest
